黄河流域西部的地理情况.

A section of the Great Wall ends here by Yellow River's shore at Jingtai, Gansu 甘肃 景泰 (top picture), where the river emerges from its gorge section and enters into the desert region. Jingtai is about 150 km north of Lanzhou 兰州, which lies along the ancient Silk Road. Between Lanzhou and the ancient capital Changan 长安 (now Xi'an) is the city Tianshui in Gansu 甘肃 天水, where we find this rock stem protruding from the ground (bottom picture), where religious and non-religious carvings are incised.
