The Ruoergai grassland is located in the northern Sichuan bordering the southern boundary of the basin in its upper reaches. Meandering across the grassland is the Bai River which joins Yellow River on the top part of the picture. In 1936, the Red Army crossed the grassland on its way north during the famous Long March.
