In 1985, NACA-Boston, together with many Asian-American organizations established
the Asian American Unity Dinner, which was to be held bi-annually in support
of Asian-American political candidates. The first such candiate recognized
was S. B. Woo, who was then the Lieutenant Governor of Delaware, and was
actively campaigning for the candidacy of Delaware's seat in the U.S. Senate.
