This is an illustrative map of the Yellow River basin. The Yellow River is in light blue color which is not very visible. (I shall improve on its presentation later) The locations of Hekouzhen (河口镇) and Zhengzhou (郑州) are designated. Tributaries drain into the main channel between these two locations constitute the middle reaches of the river.
